Frequently Asked Questions
Is Vokabelly free?
Yes! Core features are free forever. Translate text, save words, and review flashcards at no cost. Premium unlocks additional features like curated CEFR decks, themed vocabulary packs, and an ad-free experience.
What languages does Vokabelly support?
Vokabelly teaches German vocabulary. The app interface is available in English, Ukrainian, Russian, French, and Spanish. Your native language is auto-detected from your phone settings.
How does spaced repetition work?
Vokabelly uses the SM-2 algorithm to schedule your reviews. Words you find easy are shown less often, while challenging words appear more frequently. This means you spend less time studying and remember more words long-term.
Do I need an internet connection?
You need internet for translations and syncing your progress. However, camera OCR (text recognition from photos) and voice input work completely offline on your device.
Can I import my own word lists?
Currently, you build decks by translating text and tapping words to save them. We also offer curated CEFR-level decks (A1 through C1) and themed vocabulary packs for topics like medicine, law, and programming.
